    Winter Ready : Diet Tips To Safely Lose Those Extra Pounds

    Winter is knocking at the door and we all know what that means – putting on the holiday weight. Yes, winter is a time when we usually indulge in eating a lot of calorie-rich food. Since the body’s metabolism slows down during this time, the body finds it difficult to breakdown the food and it gets assimilated in the body as fat. Now, you wouldn’t want those extra kilos to make you feel tired, would you?

    Nirvana Naturopathy & Retreat’s naturopathy specialists believe that losing weight is very easy and you can quickly get rid of those extra kilos if you just follow a good diet. So, before you start binging on your turkey or chicken roast for Christmas, consider the diet tips given below to shed the extra kilos. Follow the same routine after the holiday season is over as well.

    • Eat three meals a day, but make sure that they are all well-balanced and nutritious. Also, if you feel hungry, include healthy snacks. Do not munch on fried foods or candies.
    • Do not skip your breakfast. Skipping breakfast does not make you cut down on calories, but you end up eating more during the day. At our naturopathy resort near Mumbai, we serve whole-grain cereal with fruit for a power-packed start of the day.
    • Eat your dinner early and close your kitchen. This will make sure that you do not give in to the craving of midnight snacking or late-night munchies. By doing this, you are going to considerably reduce your dinner portion and prevent excessive kilos from being added to your weight.
    • Be very careful when choosing your liquid calories. Follow this tip even when you are eating a lot during the holidays. Avoid sweetened drinks that are simply high on calories and do not satisfy thirst or hunger. So, try to consume fruit juices that are low on calories, but high in nutrition.
    • Eat a lot of fibre with your meals. So, even when you are eating an extra piece of chicken leg at the Christmas dinner table, make sure that you are balancing it out by eating a lot of vegetables and fruits. This will make sure that the junk is being balanced out.

    So, these are a few diet tips to make you winter ready so that you can lose those extra weight quickly. You can also enjoy staying at our yoga and meditation centre to learn more about how proper diet affects your body and mind.
