    Eczema

    WHAT IS ECZEMA?

    Eczema also known as dermatitis, is a skin condition that causes dryness, itching, redness and rashes. It is not contagious, but it reflects an imbalance within body- often linked to immunity, digestion and lifestyle.

    At our centre, we believe eczema is not just a skin problem, but a signal from within. With naturopathy, we aim to address the root causes rather than the symptoms.

    TYPES:

    • Atopic dermatitis : common in children and adults with allergies.
    • Contact dermatitis : due to soap, cosmetics or metals.
    • Hand and Foot eczema : tiny itchy blisters.
    • Seborrheic dermatitis : dandruff, itchy scalps, oily patches.
    • Stasis dermatitis- poor circulation causing skin irritation on legs.

    CAUSES:

    Eczema may be triggered by:

    • Sensitive immune system and family history of allergies.
    • Harsh soaps, detergents, dust or weather changes.
    • Certain foods like dairy, gluten or processed items.
    • Stress, lack of rest or hormonal imbalance.
    • Poor gut and liver health.

    • Persistent itching (worse at night)
    • Dry, rough, cracked skin
    • Red or dark patches that may ooze or crust
    • Skin becoming thickened or leathery on long term scratching.
